The Pearl-Qatar Island will be playing host to Qatar Foundation's latest community project, the 'National Reading Campaign', an initiative championed by Her Excellency Sheikha Hind, the vice chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, as part of her role to promote education and learning in the state of Qatar.

Starting on Thursday 14th April, for three days, families and children of all ages are invited to Porto Arabia to join in a series of exclusively planned activities that aims to cultivate a nationwide culture of reading as well as guarantee access and provide opportunities for Qatar's children to fall in love with reading.

From 3pm-9pm daily, the National Reading Campaign will involve a series of family oriented activities such as Doha's very first Story Maze. A maze which encourages children to go on a story reading journey, and by using the help of story book characters, they need to find the quickest way to get back home; whether it be that they take a magic carpet ride, a ship or a donkey!

The campaign is designed to target parents of young children, and with other fun activities planned such as Bookmark Making, a Book Swap, and an interactive Oversized Jigsaw Puzzle, this three day creative event aims to provide a sense of nostalgia where parents are encouraged to share the stories they enjoyed as children with their own children.

So come down to 12 La Croisette, Porto Arabia (Thursday 14th – Saturday 16th April) and unleash the bookworm in you!
