Ashghal Lusail Expressway| Traffic Diversion and Road Layout Change on Lusail Street<p>The Public Works Authority, "Ashghal", announces that it will close the traffic signal at the intersection of Legtaifiya Street and Lusail Street ("Katara Junction traffic signal") and modify existing traffic movements near The Pearl to complete the remaining construction works on a three-level interchange on the Lusail Expressway project.</p><p> The proposed road layout changes have been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and will be implemented in two phases on Wednesday 19 July and Thursday 20 July 2017, with an expected operation period of six months.</p><p> The disabling of the traffic signal at Katara Junction, combined with the recently opened tunnel at the Onaiza Interchange, and flyover at Al Khaleej Al Gharbi Interchange, will facilitate complete free-flow traffic movement for road users travelling from The Pearl area towards West Bay. It will also enable the Public Works Authority to open multiple tunnels on the Lusail Expressway project in the next two months. As shown on the attached map, the modified road layout will require road users travelling on Lusail Street and Legtaifiya Street to follow new routes to access Katara Cultural Village, The Pearl and Legtaifiya Street. From West Bay to Legtaifiya Street</p><p> Road users travelling from West Bay towards Legtaifiya Street will no longer be able to turn left at the Katara Junction traffic signal. They are advised to continue straight, make a U-Turn after the South Canal Crossing Bridge, then continue onwards and make a right turn on to Legtaifiya Street.</p><br> <strong>Legtaifiya Street, Lusail City or Lagoona Mall to The Pearl</strong> <p>Road users coming from Legtaifiya Street, Lusail City or Lagoona Mall who wish to access The Pearl, are advised to drive along Lusail Street towards West Bay and follow road signs towards a new purpose-built U-Turn above the recently opened tunnel at Onaiza Interchange. They can then continue onwards on Lusail Street towards The Pearl.</p><p> As part of the road change, "Ashghal" will also shift the existing traffic signal located near the Diplomatic Club and remove the temporary roundabout leading to Lagoona Mall and Lusail City. Both modifications are expected to better regulate traffic flow between West Bay and The Pearl.</p><p><br> <strong>Katara Cultural Village to Legtaifiya Street and West Bay</strong> </p><p>Road users exiting Katara Cultural Village will no longer be able to go straight across Katara Junction signal towards Legtaifiya Street. Instead, they will be required to turn right on to Lusail Street, make a U-Turn after South Canal Crossing Bridge, then drive straight and either, take the first right on to Legtaifiya Street or continue onwards to West Bay.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Access to Legtaifiya Lagoon Residential Area</strong> </p><p>Access to Legtaifiya Lagoon Residential Area will be via Lusail City only.</p><p> Road users coming from West Bay, The Pearl or Lagoona Mall, will have to follow the diversion over the North Canal Crossing Bridge, make a U-turn in Lusail City and exit right into Legtaifiya Lagoon Residential Area. The Public Works Authority will install advance signage to advise road users of the modified road layout. The Pearl-Qatar welcomes 25 new retail shops<p>The Pearl-Qatar has welcomed 25 new retailers - including several hospitality outlets - providing residents and visitors to the island with an exceptional leisure experience. </p><p> Despite only having passed the first quarter of 2017, a large number of new outlets have established in Porto Arabia, Medina Centrale and Qanat Quartier, reflecting the success of master developer United Development Company (UDC), in attracting businesses to meet the requirements of the island’s residents. These new outlets take the number of businesses at The Pearl-Qatar to well over 300.</p><p> A subsequent pickup in retail activity across the island has been recorded, as witnessed by the number of vehicles entering The Pearl-Qatar. This is tracked through monitoring devices installed at the entrance of the island. From March 9 to April 8, a weekly average of 210,000 vehicles have entered The Pearl-Qatar, and more than 10 million vehicles have visited The Pearl in the past year. </p><p> Unlike most shopping experiences across Qatar and the Gulf region, where visitors are restricted to indoor malls, The Pearl-Qatar offers visitors a beautiful alfresco experience with many shops, restaurants and cafes directly overlooking the beach.</p><p> As a leading local project, The Pearl-Qatar continues to attract an increasing number of top tier brands looking to establish a presence in the growing Qatari market by setting up flagship stores on the island.</p><p> The variety of retail establishments will appeal to both Qatari consumers and the expat community as their offerings cater to a variety needs and tastes.</p><p> Porto Arabia, home to The Pearl-Qatar’s main marina, welcomed David Morris, one of the world’s leading jewelry manufacturers and an esteemed British brand, dating back to 1962. </p><p> Italian Ice Cream Cafe Gelarto Rosa; Sea & Deserts, a supplier of land and maritime equipment, and Dar Haa gift shop, in addition to Havana Cafe, Beauty Boutique, Pressto Laundry, Dr. Shake and Luxury Living have all unveiled new outlets in Porto Arabia, bringing the total number of shops in that area to 213.</p><p> Medina Centrale is now home to 80 shops, including the recently opened Crepe & More, Arabian fragrance store Ajmal Perfumes and Dnata Travel services.</p><p> Qanat Quartier, the waterfront village reminiscent of Venice in Italy, witnessed the opening of Regus Business Center for office space rental; Henks Garden; Chimney Cake; and local state-of-the-art N.Zein Café; Fashion Outlet Modern, Mr. Blend coffee shop and Melia for Flowers & Gifts, bringing the total number of shops in the neighborhood to 30.</p><p> Eleven: Eleven, the specialized coffee and cereal shop, also opened its doors to the public in the Oyster building, located near the entrance of The Pearl-Qatar.</p> The inauguration of new businesses brings the total number of shops on the island to 3234/17/2017 10:00:00 PM

The Pearl-Qatar to host National Day celebrations<p>As part of the Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations, United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, has lined up several events to mark the occasion. The island-wide celebrations will cover The Pearl-Qatar’s main retail areas of Porto Arabia, Medina Centrale and Qanat Quartier which will host various traditional and recreational activities from 15 till 18 December 2016, from 6:00 pm till 11:00 pm. </p><p> During the four-day event, these venues will be adorned with Arabic-style tents serving traditional coffee to visitors while children enjoy dedicated spaces to play and color their faces with National Day inspired designs. Mascots portraying traditional cartoon characters will be roaming the location giving kids and families the opportunity to take photos with them or even with the falcons on display. In the meantime, adults can enjoy henna drawing or check out the Qatari food tents and karak tea kiosks. </p><p> Traditional performances will take center stage as well-trained children from Qatar Leadership Academy partake in military parades not to forget the performance of the widely popular Arda dance which always succeeds to evoke feelings of patriotism.</p><p> Visitors will also be treated to National Day branded balloons and giveaways, and to commemorate their visit and share it with the world, Instagram cutout structures have been installed in the three celebratory venues in addition to The Pearl roundabout at the Island’s entrance. Medina Centrale’s “Souq Al Medina” welcomes its first retailers<p style="text-align:justify;">​Souq Al Medina", The Pearl-Qatar's latest indoor shopping complex, has recently welcomed its first batch of retailers comprising of an eclectic mix of shopping and dining outlets and coffeeshops. Ashghal Lusail Expressway| Traffic Diversion and Road Layout Change on Lusail Street<p>The Public Works Authority, "Ashghal", announces that it will close the traffic signal at the intersection of Legtaifiya Street and Lusail Street ("Katara Junction traffic signal") and modify existing traffic movements near The Pearl to complete the remaining construction works on a three-level interchange on the Lusail Expressway project.</p><p> The proposed road layout changes have been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and will be implemented in two phases on Wednesday 19 July and Thursday 20 July 2017, with an expected operation period of six months.</p><p> The disabling of the traffic signal at Katara Junction, combined with the recently opened tunnel at the Onaiza Interchange, and flyover at Al Khaleej Al Gharbi Interchange, will facilitate complete free-flow traffic movement for road users travelling from The Pearl area towards West Bay. It will also enable the Public Works Authority to open multiple tunnels on the Lusail Expressway project in the next two months. As shown on the attached map, the modified road layout will require road users travelling on Lusail Street and Legtaifiya Street to follow new routes to access Katara Cultural Village, The Pearl and Legtaifiya Street. From West Bay to Legtaifiya Street</p><p> Road users travelling from West Bay towards Legtaifiya Street will no longer be able to turn left at the Katara Junction traffic signal. They are advised to continue straight, make a U-Turn after the South Canal Crossing Bridge, then continue onwards and make a right turn on to Legtaifiya Street.</p><br> <strong>Legtaifiya Street, Lusail City or Lagoona Mall to The Pearl</strong> <p>Road users coming from Legtaifiya Street, Lusail City or Lagoona Mall who wish to access The Pearl, are advised to drive along Lusail Street towards West Bay and follow road signs towards a new purpose-built U-Turn above the recently opened tunnel at Onaiza Interchange. They can then continue onwards on Lusail Street towards The Pearl.</p><p> As part of the road change, "Ashghal" will also shift the existing traffic signal located near the Diplomatic Club and remove the temporary roundabout leading to Lagoona Mall and Lusail City. Both modifications are expected to better regulate traffic flow between West Bay and The Pearl.</p><p><br> <strong>Katara Cultural Village to Legtaifiya Street and West Bay</strong> </p><p>Road users exiting Katara Cultural Village will no longer be able to go straight across Katara Junction signal towards Legtaifiya Street. Instead, they will be required to turn right on to Lusail Street, make a U-Turn after South Canal Crossing Bridge, then drive straight and either, take the first right on to Legtaifiya Street or continue onwards to West Bay.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Access to Legtaifiya Lagoon Residential Area</strong> </p><p>Access to Legtaifiya Lagoon Residential Area will be via Lusail City only.</p><p> Road users coming from West Bay, The Pearl or Lagoona Mall, will have to follow the diversion over the North Canal Crossing Bridge, make a U-turn in Lusail City and exit right into Legtaifiya Lagoon Residential Area. The Public Works Authority will install advance signage to advise road users of the modified road layout. The Pearl-Qatar welcomes 25 new retail shops<p>The Pearl-Qatar has welcomed 25 new retailers - including several hospitality outlets - providing residents and visitors to the island with an exceptional leisure experience. </p><p> Despite only having passed the first quarter of 2017, a large number of new outlets have established in Porto Arabia, Medina Centrale and Qanat Quartier, reflecting the success of master developer United Development Company (UDC), in attracting businesses to meet the requirements of the island’s residents. These new outlets take the number of businesses at The Pearl-Qatar to well over 300.</p><p> A subsequent pickup in retail activity across the island has been recorded, as witnessed by the number of vehicles entering The Pearl-Qatar. This is tracked through monitoring devices installed at the entrance of the island.
